Job Description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced financial controller to join their well established team based in central Algarve.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance team, ensuring development and performance.
  • Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee monthly management accounts, year-end audits, and statutory accounts.
  • Develop and implement improvements in financial processes and internal controls.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting, coordinating with department managers for accuracy.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Direct tax planning and management efforts, including VAT, R&D tax credits, CIS, and payroll taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

  • 5-7 years post-qualification experience
  • Demonstrated experience at Financial Controller level.
  • Strong foundation in technical accounting
  • Previous experience with system and process improvements is highly desirable.
  • Independent, proactive & ambitious, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a hands-on approach..

This is a full time, permanent role with contract provided.
